“Success is not an accident. It takes hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most if all, love for what you are doing.”-Pele. This quote describes who I am as a person and the direction I intend to go on this journey of being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. My name is Katia Robinson Lucero I a Bi-lingual. I speak English and Spanish and I have been in Social Work practice for 4 years. I chose the profession of helping others because I have learned that the creation of our lives drives the inner passion we have and this energy is exalted towards the World we know. People have the power, and the capacity to resolve their own issues. it is here where our efforts are underestimated.
I had the wonderful opportunity to gain clinical experience at Marriage and Family center with LCSW, ACSW and CAP Maribeth Lichty. Plus, I also had the opportunity to finish my clinical supervision with Rachael Haskell, LCSW and PH D. at Resolution Today in St. Petersburg, FL. My clinical experience has allowed me to provide counseling and case management services to people with different kinds of problems. I have been able to help people who are victims and or survivors of domestic violence, people who deal with chemical dependency, people who are unemployed, people who are victims and or survivors of sexual assault, people who have mental health disorders, and people with chronic diseases and medical disorders. I cannot be thankful enough from the support of these two mentors. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and reality therapy to keep focus my client’s needs, desires and I support them throughout the way. I believe that the client is the expert and that my role as a therapist is to guide or facilitate a plan in which the client comes to the solution of an obstacle they face.
My Counseling practice is called Zinda Counseling Center, “Zinda” meaning “life” in Persian language because life is your unique legacy. I invite you to take your first step in working towards your goals and creating the life you want.

With over 15 years of experience in social service organization and agencies, I have a diverse work history and life experience to match. I am happy to share a snapshot of my personal and professional life with you and perhaps it can help you or someone you know. My drive in life is to leave the world better than I found it; whether helping one person take a step forward or speaking to an organization about communication skills.
As an experienced and passionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I utilize my skills and expertise of working with youth, women, families and organizations where the greatest positive impact can be made to our society. Unfortunately, the world brings pain, shame, and hurt; however, I believe through prevention (training and awareness) and intervention (therapy and supportive services) these and other symptoms and behaviors can reduced and possibly avoided all together.
As a graduate of the University of South Florida, I know the value of an excellent education. I have a passion and value for life, my profession and am a life-long learner. I believe all great teachers never stop being students; and, all great therapists never ask more of their clients than they ask of themselves. Since graduation from the University of South Florida in 2010 with my MSW, I became licensed as an LCSW in 2013, and have experience in traditional private practice setting, clinical research and non-profit.
In this first quarter of 2016, I’ve taken significant strides toward my career goals. I am a
Qualified Supervisor for Registered Clinical Social Work Interns as well as certified in
Hypnotherapy. I’ve developed community partnerships with behavioral health affiliates to assist and be a referral source for therapy. I spoke at the Real Ideas Conference on the panel discussion: Care: Kids Who are Hurting.
