Myofascial
Release
A safe and very effective hands-on technique that releases the
fascial system. MFR works by applying
gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to
eliminate pain, restore motion, and restore health to the surrounding tissues. Fascia, also
called connective tissue is composed of collagenous fibers. The entire body is connected in fascia,
forming a 3-D web of connective tissue.
Fascial restrictions occur in injury, trauma, repetitive motion, poor
posture, inflammation and scar tissue.
These restrictions can exert force of up to 2,000 pounds of pressure per
square inch on the body’s sensitive tissues, organs, nerves, and blood
vessels. These restrictions can become
tighter over time, sending symptoms throughout the body. If left untreated, these symptoms often
progress to the point of chronic pain syndrome.
